        asleep
and peace
  has
     cleansed
her face
  of tears
     of terror
still I am
          awake
and I remember
   the tears
and
    terror
as she clung
   and tried
to crawl
        inside me
her hands
    on my
         back
her hair
    in my
         mouth
her heart
    in my
         hands
...a miracle...
